Our Approach to Yoga
It is with a joyful heart that we welcome you to Yoga/Meditation at the Ancient Spanish Monastery. We are blessed to hold our classes within these ancient walls that surround us. Each time we enter here, our deeper selves begin to sense de reverence, the magic, and mystery of this 883-year-old home to the monks who long ago lived here. A gentle, kind and loving peace is found here as we leave the concerns of the outer world for the serenity of the heart in this place of deep spirit. Allowing our hearts to experience the beautiful stillness here, we find our bodies and hearts in synchronization as we flow through the yoga poses.
Borba Yoga is a way to Enlightenment. A way to find Peace and Harmony within you; it is rooted in ancient tradition, but is unique in its modern-day transformational journey on the path to a more joyous life--both on and off the yoga mat. Here there is no guru to follow, just follow your heart.
Welcome to the journey. Namaste.
Your body and mind are meant to be a whole, and to ensure that they are, your whole existence is based on feedback loops. Body listens to mind; mind listens to body. Awareness is the link. A cell awareness is expressed in chemical reactions instead of words. The message comes through loud and clear.
We embrace you into our special yoga family, knowing that you will come to love our practice from your heart as we do!
Borba Yoga practice and programs are designed to empower you with the focus, training and insight you need to achieve consistent results in the most important areas of your life.
A gentle and powerful physical yoga practice, meditation practice and active self-inquiry are used as tools of transformation – encouraging participants to reclaim their full potential,
discover creativity, awaken passion, create authenticity, confidence and new possibilities.
Meditating in the heart
All techniques taught in our classes focus on connecting to the heart center (chakra), the safest and easiest energy center for practicing meditation. With regular practice, your experience and understanding of this vast dimension of your own consciousness will unfold and expand.
Enlightening life's habits
We tend to think that we are stuck with our physical, emotional and mental habits and limitations, some of which can be destructive or distracting when we aspire to lead a spiritual life. However, we can change for the better using our inner capacities and permanently transform bad habits. In the classes, tips are shared for accelerating this process using meditative techniques
